OhioDance’s annual festival is co-sponsored by the Ohio State University (OSU) Department of Dance and takes place the OSU Dance Studios and Barnett Theatre in Columbus. On Friday, April 24, students from Ohio K-12 schools will perform in a Young Artists’ Concert from 11 a.m. to noon. The concert will be open to the public and free to attend, and a variety of classes and dance education workshops will follow until 5:30pm. OhioDance will present its documentary film, “Ohio: A State of Dance,” on Friday, April 24 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. All events are open to the general public.
On Saturday, April 25, from 9:00am-5:00pm, OhioDance welcomes guest artist James Gregg, a choreographer working in Los Angeles. His work is based in hip hop isolation, which influences his “fixed point” technique and is adapted for contemporary concert dance. There will be a variety of classes that day. A professional evening concert will be from 7:00pm-9:00pm.
On Sunday, April 26, from 10:00am-3:00pm, there are wellness sessions and classes.
